So in 12 hours, I was only able to visit 3 sites in Kyoto. One day wasn’t enough to go around Kyoto yet I enjoyed getting lost until such time that my feet ached. Going to Kyoto is literally a walkathon. I was lost 3x and worst, I lost my borrowed ICOCA card in Arashiyama that still has 2000 Yen credits.

1st Stop: Arashiyama
How to get there from Osaka:

- Drop at Katsura Station and transfer to the Hankyu Arashiyama Line for Arashiyama. The one-way trip takes about 20 minutes and costs 220 yen. Hankyu Arashiyama Station is located on the opposite side of the river, about a 5-10 minute walk from central Arashiyama.
- Free admission
2nd Stop: Kyoto Station & Kyoto Central Post Office & Kyoto Tower
How to get there from Hankyu Arashiyama Station:

- Take the train back to Katsura station.
- From Katsura station, take the train to Kawaramachi Station.
- If you want to take the Kyoto City Bus & Kyoto Bus One-day Pass, just go to any of the station, approach anyone from the staff and ask for the One-Day Pass for 600 Yen.
- From Katsura station, take the train to Kawaramachi Station.
- Kyoto Tower (770 Yen) Kyoto Tower stands on the north side of Kyoto Station
- No admission. Public transport.
- Take the train back to Katsura station.
3rd Stop: Fushimi Inari Taisha

- If you do not have a JR pass, ride a train from Keihan Main Line, drop at Fushimi Inari Station.
- Always open. Free admission
